  • Provide tools to strengthen supports for individuals with autism for general use at home as well as more specifically tailored supports for medical appointment preparation.
  • Describe diagnostic clues that warrant urgent action for genetic illnesses (and what action to take!).  
  • Analyze genetic testing options, timing, cost, and how to obtain desired results.
  • Discuss who, when and to whom to refer pediatric genetic consults.
  • Summarize monitoring parameters for renal involvement in children with Henoch-Schönlein Purpura Nephritis.
  • Discuss the varying degrees of renal involvement and initial treatment of Henoch-Schönlein Purpura Nephritis. 
  • Identify root causes of vaccine hesitancy and illustrate a new way to approach the vaccine conversation.
  • Explain how to interpret psychiatric presenting behaviors and symptoms in context.
  • Differentiate disruptive behavior, neurodevelopmental, mood, and anxiety.

  • Discuss basic management of psychiatric concerns and when to refer.
  • Define and practice narrative medicine and narrative competence.
